Welcome 2009!

Happy 2009 a few days late :)

I don't know about anyone else but I am certainly glad to see 2008 go. I'm ready as ever to start a fresh and goal-oriented new year.

I think I have a little star on my hands. For the past few months I've noticed that anytime there is music on, my daughter Kendall dances and claps. She LOOOOVES music! I think this is a sign that she's gonna be A) a professional dancer B) a singer C) something in the entertainment industry. Yesterday, Kelly Clarkstons "Since you've been gone" came on the radio in the truck and she started clapping. She clapped throughout the whole song. She is just sooo cute. I was going to enroll her in a gymnastic Gymboree class but now I think I'm going to enroll her in a music class instead.

Tyler -- my big boy. He is doing SO well in school. He received the Citizen of the Month Award for December from his school. He got a certificate and they had an assembly. The certificate reads: "Tyler Prater This certificate is awarded in recognition for showing good improvement or setting an example for others" I am SO proud of him.

Me - I start back to school on Monday the 12th. I'll be going 2 days a week. Mondays and Wednesdays. I am SOOOO excited to finally be starting my major classes. I'm majoring in Health Information Management. I've already started to read my class books and they are very interesting. I will graduate in May 2010 with my associates degree then I will continue on to get my Bachelors in Psychology. I love going to school and love learning.

In about a month I will be getting a new vehicle. This I am very excited about. I don't know what I plan on getting but I would like for it to be an SUV that gets good gas mileage. I can't complain about the gas mileage my Blazer gets, as it's pretty good. So I'd like something comparable, just newer and more reliable!

As of tomorrow I will offically be unemployed. Tomorrow is my last day here at this job. Although my supervisor just told me they may need me to work for them during the upcoming Detroit Auto Show, so that would be awesome. He also said that it's a job that has plenty of overtime. Hello overtime?? Yes please!!! So please keep your fingers crossed that I get a call from them about that temporary position.

Okay I better get off of here so I can finish reading "Eclipse" I have 4 more chapters to read and then I can start on "Breaking Dawn" which I plan to purchase on the way home tonight!

Well - Hello there :)

Well I just wanted to start by saying that I made this blog as sort of an ode to myself. It's nearing 2009 and I will be starting the year out as a single mom.

I know it will be hard but I know in my heart it's for the best. When two people just don't get along...it's probably not the best idea to stay together.

So with that said....let's blog!

I am SO thankful that the holidays are over. I'm talking the major holiday of Christmas. I was so worried about how I was going to get presents under the tree but low and behold, I did it. Thankfully. See that was one of the problems we had in our relationship. "Their Father" always wanted to wait till Christmas Eve to even start shopping for presents! Whereas I am a planner. Heck I like to have my shoppping DONE in October/November. Which I PLAN to do for 2009. Mark my words. :)

I'd like to start the New Year with a bang. I'd love to be able to go to a nice Holiday party and ring in the New Year with some friends and drinks but on the other hand I just want to spend it with my beautiful kids. Last year we ended up taking the kids to the bowling alley and even though I'm going to be "on my own" this year with the kids, I think I just might make that a tradition and do it again this year. Bowling was SO fun last year. They had food out and it was glow bowling and music, it was just a blast. So yeah...I think I just may do that again to ring in 2009.

I have to say that even though 2008 was a pretty bad year for me, I am very optimistic and just have that "feeling" about 2009. I'm almost positive that 2009 will be a GREAT year for me and the kids.

I am SO looking forward to it.
